Once the seat of a powerful lord of Western Norway, Agatunet is a beautifully preserved medieval village. It's a ten-minute drive northwards along the fjord from Bleie, and there's ample parking nearby.

They offer guided tours every whole hour during daytime throughout the summer.

There's also a small cafe serving waffles, Norwegian icecream and local apple juice.

Each Friday during the summer holiday women from the local organisation Vikebygd og Aga bygdekvinnelag heat the owen in the baking house. The nice smell of freshly baked krotakake fills the air while the women rolls their rolling pins.

Agatunet is one of the gateways to the Folgefonna Nasjonal Park. "The drama of the mountains" tells an exciting story of the creation og developement of the glacier Folgefonna and its surroundings.

Art exhibitions has filled these old houses every summer since 1992. You can buy art pieces with you back home if you like.
